And you search our hearts to save us, not to shame us… to deliver us, not to demean us… to change us, not to chide us. You know my dignity and my depravity, my fears and my longings, my struggles with sin and my standing in Christ. So annoying.

It has been a source of comfort for me when I am feeling afraid, anxious or down.
It it the prayer I say after a bad dream, or after an especially hard day with the kids or at work. I know that nothing will happen to me because my Father and His armies of angels are with me. I intend to teach this to my sons as well so that they can use it when they feel afraid.

Tell that voice that right now you are going to spend time with God and that you will pay attention to it later when you are done. I am in control of my mind, my mind is not in control of me. Easier said than done I know but stay strong and spend a few minutes in prayerful expectation that the Holy Spirit will speak to you and inspire you.
I sometimes have my best prayer times when I say nothing at all, and just rest in the presence of my Father. Let me know which one you try. New to the blog?
